What is CAA? CAA is a bill introduced by NDA government last year in parliament and also got it cleared with the majority. It is an act to restore the rights of migrants who entered into Indian territory for the taking shelter. When we refer to the amendment, a newly inserted provision in section 2(1)(b) with reference to 1956 act states that person belonging to cast Hindu, Sikh, Jain, Buddhist, Parsi, Christian community from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, who entered India on or before 31st December 2014 and who under section 3(2)(c) are exempted by Central government under Passport( Entry into India) act 1920 or from application required under Foreigners Act 1946 are not treated as [illegal migrants] i.e they are legally allowed to stay in India. Also, there was the insertion of new section '6B'. In this section, there are 4 new sections which in summary says that if he was qualified to be granted citizenship in this act, though any proceedings were pending in respect of illegal migrants will now be allowed to submit his application for citizenship in India. Also, such person shall not be deprived of the rights and privileges he should have enjoyed as being a citizen of India from the date of receipt of such application. There was also an amendment in Section 7D. 7D(d)(a) now says that Overseas Citizen of India Cardholder will be given reasonable opportunity to be heard before an order is passed under this act if he is help for the violation under this act. In the Third Schedule to the principal Act, in clause (d), the following proviso is inserted, the person belonging to Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi or Christian community in Afghanistan, Bangladesh or Pakistan, the aggregate period of residence or service of Government in India as required under this clause shall be read as "not less than five years" in place of "not less than eleven years.
From above, I conclude that CAA is not bad for the country and ask all citizens to stop listening to what political leaders which are leading to protest nationwide. The money of we taxpayers are lost because public properties are getting damaged unnecessarily. Also, our country is not Dharamshala. Let the Indians get their rights first and not migrants staying in India illegally and taking benefits of government. This act is not taking citizenship of INDIAN MUSLIMS for your kind information.
CAA is for benefit of citizens of the country.
